From the action songs of the youngest children to the more complex music making of the older children, music has a vital part to play in children’s education. Every child has the opportunity to experience and enjoy music through performance, composition, appreciation, participation and listening.
Children are encouraged to see music as an important form of communication in daily life and different cultures, and to develop their own musical interests. Through our Wider Opportunities Provision, every child learns to play an instrument, such as the violin, ukulele, tin whistle or ocarina, and there are further opportunities to learn brass and woodwind instruments, piano and guitar through private tuition.
