At Eardisley CE School, we want every child to enjoy science and to be curious about the world around them. Our beautiful setting gives children plenty of opportunities to explore nature, observe changes and learn from real-life experiences.
Science at Eardisley School isn’t just about knowing facts. Children learn to ask questions, make predictions, carry out simple investigations and talk about what they discover. We help them use clear scientific vocabulary and develop the confidence to explain their ideas.
We make learning practical wherever possible—whether studying local habitats, looking at seasonal changes, or exploring materials and forces. Children learn to collect information, spot patterns and think about why results may not always be what they expect.
We use the National Curriculum as our basis and plan our teaching through a two-year cycle supported by both Kapow Primary and our knowledge of the local area. These resources help us ensure clear progression in knowledge and skills while keeping science exciting and relevant for our children.
In the Early Years, children learn science through play, observation and hands‑on exploration.
Our aim is that every child leaves Eardisley School feeling like a scientist—curious, confident and ready to keep exploring the world.
