British Values

British Values at Eardisley CE Primary School

At Eardisley CE Primary School, our vision is rooted in Jesus' command to "Love one another as I have loved you" (John 15:12). Through this vision, we nurture a caring, respectful and inclusive community where every child is valued as a unique child of God. British Values are woven throughout school life and help our children become responsible, compassionate and active citizens.

Democracy

At Eardisley, we believe that every voice matters. Children are encouraged to share their opinions, make choices and contribute to school life. Through our School Council, pupil leadership opportunities and classroom discussions, pupils learn that everyone's views should be listened to and respected. This reflects our vision of loving one another by valuing the thoughts and ideas of others.

Rule of Law

Our children understand the importance of rules in helping everyone feel safe, respected and able to flourish. Together, pupils help establish classroom expectations and learn about fairness, responsibility and consequences. By following rules and making positive choices, children demonstrate care and consideration for others within our school community.

Tolerance of Different Faiths and Beliefs

As a Church of England school, we celebrate diversity and encourage children to appreciate and learn from people of different faiths, cultures and backgrounds. Through Religious Education, collective worship, global learning and curriculum experiences, pupils develop understanding, empathy and respect for those whose beliefs may differ from their own. In doing so, they live out our vision to "Love One Another" by showing acceptance and compassion to all.

Mutual Respect

Respect lies at the heart of our Christian vision. We teach children to treat others with kindness, dignity and understanding, recognising that everyone is created and loved by God. Our values of friendship and determination help children work together, celebrate each other's successes and build positive relationships across the school community.

Individual Liberty

We encourage children to develop confidence, independence and resilience. Pupils are supported to make choices, take responsibility for their actions and express their views respectfully. Through our curriculum, worship and online safety education, children learn how to exercise their freedoms safely while recognising the rights and freedoms of others.
