Our Spirituality

What is spirituality?

Spirituality can be a difficult thing to define! At Eardisley, we believe it is fundamental to our mental and physical well‑being (for children and adults alike), but it is not exactly the same as those things. It is not necessarily tied to a religious belief. People of faith and people of no faith can be deeply spiritual.

At Eardisley CE Primary School, we nurture the spiritual life of every child. We believe that spirituality is about wonder, reflection, and discovering deeper meaning in the world around us. It involves:

  • noticing beauty, awe and mystery
  • thinking about big questions and ideas
  • understanding feelings and emotions
  • developing self‑awareness and empathy
  • recognising how our actions affect others
  • feeling connected—to people, to nature, and to something bigger than ourselves

We encourage children to pause, reflect, ask questions and explore their inner world. Through this, they learn to appreciate life more deeply, grow in wisdom, and develop a sense of hope and purpose.

Spirituality at Eardisley is woven through our curriculum, our worship, and the daily life of our school—helping every child flourish, feel valued, and understand their unique place in the world.
